The beautiful countryside of Brittany, France has a rich abundance of wildlife and walking through the meadows and forests you see these wonderful deer, when they decide to bolt they do so with such grace and in a flash vanish. This has given me the inspiration to carve them running, which is always a thrill when I see them in the wild.
The two deer are carved from lime wood which is then carefully hand painted, they are mounted on a hard wood base with carved base to simulate the ground which they are running on which is also hand painted.
